The hotel has two wings and over 300 rooms. It has two restaurants, The Marketplace which features lighter foods and Richard's Restraurant and Louge which has a more complete menu. The hotel also has an indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi located in the Tropical Courtyard of Eisenhower I. A fitness room and dry sauna are on site as well. There is also a Business Center.

Across from the hotel is the Conference Center. This is a huge facility which will house all our events except for Monday's Temperament Test and CGC which will be held outdoors. The hotel offers a complementary shuttle from the lobby to the Center, but this might not the most reliable. If walking back and forth is a problem, you might want to rent an electric cart. Information on rental services will be posted later.

Airports   

TRANSPORTATION: A number of airports service the Gettysburg area. The two most likely to accommodate you are: Harrisburg International Airport--55 miles or Baltimore Washington-85 mile. If you are traveling with dogs, check to make sure the plane and airport can accommodate the required crate size. 

Rental cars may be more economical and convenient than shuttles. Harrisburg International has rental agencies on the 1st floor of the Multi-Modal Transportation Facility, adjacent to the terminal http://www.flyhia.com/home/parking/car_rental

RV PARKING (on site)

RV PARKING—Reservations required, Limited Availability. For reservations contact: Barbara Cook, bcakitas@comcast.net. Make checks payable to the Akita Club of America, Inc. & Mail to ACA c/o Barbara Cook, 10114 Oxford Ct., Nokesville, Va 20181-1610.

Specify: type of vehicle(s), overall length, arrival date and length of stay. Fee: $30/Night. Water and waste removal service will be available. Site is available for RV parking at 3:00pm Monday, September 20. NO EXCEPTIONS – QUIET HOURS are 11pm to 6am. This means during those hours NO GENERATORS running and no dogs left outside or unattended in the RV. No hookups. All vehicles must be self-contained. No grilling outside. No sawdust or shavings. RV occupants are responsible for the clean-up of the RV parking area No dumping on the grounds. A list of all people staying in the unit must be supplied with the reservation and updated with the reservations chair no later than August 27, 2010. Any violations of these rules could lead to disciplinary action by the Event Committee.
